So, this morning, I got myself roped in to writing a Perl wrapper for the entire
del.icio.us
API
. I wrote it after first writing a screen scraper to return a list of of tags for an arbitrary
URL
and then Joshua said he'd add the functionality to the
API
.
The package is incomplete in that all it does is, barring an
HTTP
error, return the chunks of
XML
that the del.icio.us server sends back.
So, if you've got a login and want to help out you can run
this program
that will call all of the package's methods and write the results out to a dump file. You can
send the dump to me
and I will update the code to return useful data structures.
Meanwhile, once the basic functionality is done I will add the module to the
CPAN
and offer up maintainership to someone more interested in keeping up with the
API
. Let me know if you want it.
