posts brought to you by the category “beer”
Das eez kaput! Sometime around 2002 I spaced the entire database
table that mapped individual entries to categories. Such is life.
What follows is a random sampling of entries that were associated
with the category. Over time, the entries will be updated and then it
will be even more confusing. Wander around, though, it's still a fun
way to find stuff.

Accessing Web Services In Mozilla [1.4] Using WSDL Proxying

Ariel Dorfman : Heaven help me,
Heaven help me, I am saying that if I had been given a chance
years ago to spare the lives of so many of my dearest friends, given
the chance to end my exile and alleviate the grief of millions of my
fellow countrymen, I would have rejected it if the price we would
have had to pay was clusters of bombs killing the innocent, if the
price was years of foreign occupation, if the price was the loss of
control over our own destiny. Heaven help me, I am saying that I care
more about the future of this sad world than about the future of your
unprotected children.

"Other than departmentalizing the Weblog
functionality, the major addition is the integration and rewrite of Xhoo.
In short, this version of Weblog is a move towards a well-defined
environment for creating, editing, syndicating, and organizing channels.
... If you haven't heard of it before, Xhoo is a Web catalog that I
developed as an article a while back. You can still read about it off the
Mother of Perl home page. The difference now is that Xhoo itself is built
using RSS files, which allows you to leverage all of the same tools that
are now available for manipulating RSS. In the future, Xhoo will probably
support the RSS 1.0 threads module as soon as it matures a bit. Weblog
channels link to Xhoo categories through the taxonomy RSS 1.0 module."

This document uses
CSS
kung-fu and a small amount of JavaScript for rendering its
contents. Efforts have been made to separate the form from the
content so if you are viewing this in a text-based browser it
shouldn't be an issue.
On the other hand it may look funny if you are viewing it in a
browser with incomplete
CSS
and/or JavaScript implementations. Internet Explorer 6 comes to
mind.
It's not that I don't love you. However, my time is limited and
I no longer feel very good about spending it working around any one
browser's inconsistencies with little, or no, confidence that they
will ever be fixed or otherwise made more inconsistent at some
later date.
On the other hand, if something is down-right
unreadable
please let me know and I will endeavour to fix it.

This page may not validate. It's not that I don't care, it's
just that I'm not aware of it yet. Part of the reason that I
rewrote the entire back-end for managing this site is that the old
stuff made it too easy for these kinds of mistakes to slip through
the cracks.
