Wired on Genetically modified trees
"The Michigan team figured out a solution by engineering aspen trees with 45 percent less lignin content. At the same time, the loss in strengthening materials is compensated for with a 15 percent increase in cellulose." Apparently, these trees are also

Neuromancer : the movie
I wonder if this will translate well to the screen. For me William Gibson's books have always been about the ideas and the writing style. The plots, on the other hand, have always seemed pretty generic.
Philip K. Dick's work has suffered a similar fate, ranging from the good (
Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?) to the unspeakably bad (
We Can Remember It For You Wholesale).
